📱Claude iOS App Debuts

Anthropic, Claude’s parent company, has been busy lately working on developing their first-ever iOS app. This release is set to expand the company’s reach, providing iPhone users with another powerful AI tool at their fingertips. The app aims to deliver a user-friendly interface combined with all of the capabilities and features we’ve grown to love Anthropic for. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to finally have Claude as a standalone app on my phone!
Key details:
The iOS app includes several standout features such as real-time data analysis, predictive modeling, and personalized AI recommendations.
Anthropic is also putting an emphasis on security by encrypting all of the user’s data and with easily configurable privacy settings, giving users control over their information (a feature ChatGPT recently removed).
Currently, the app is only available in the iOS app store, but Anthropic has stated that an Android app is in the works.
If you haven’t already, download Claude in the App Store and add it to your list of AI apps.
Why it's Important:
We’re seeing more and more AI apps hit the market each week and Anothropic’s iOS app is another indication of that shift towards more mobile and user-friendly AI applications. This not only makes powerful AI tools more accessible to a broader audience but also sets a new standard for how AI can be integrated into daily lives.

🐰 Chasing Rabbit(s) R1

The Rabbit R1 was a highly anticipated AI-driven project, that has unfortunately not lived up to expectations following its public release last week. R1 features its signature neon orange case, an analog scroll wheel on the right side of the device, and above the scroll wheel a camera that can rotate 360 degrees (lovingly named "Rabbit Eye"). Initially, this device was seen as a breakthrough in artificial intelligence technology, but post-launch, it has faced significant operational challenges and scrutiny from the AI community.
What you need to know:
R1 is powered by Rabbit OS, which uses a Large Action Model (LAM) AI that can navigate apps and complete tasks. Although, currently there are only 4 apps that it can access: Spotify, Uber, Doordash, and Midjourney.
One of the most anticipated features of the R1 is an "experimental" capability that will allow users to train the AI to control niche apps and workflows that are specific to their needs. This would then learn this workflow and be able to repeat it automatically.
The Rabbit R1 has struggled with reliability issues, often producing inconsistent or inaccurate answers to even basic questions. One user reported scanning a Dorito asking R1 what it was and it boldly stated it was a taco (nothing wrong with tacos - we just want the right answer).
These technical problems are likely due to a lack of training, knowledge, and testing before release.
Why it's Important:
Following the initial excitement, it’s apparent that the gap between the promised capabilities of the Rabbit R1 and its actual performance has been less than optimal. Will Rabbit be able to quickly pivot and fix some of these more basic issues or is it already too late?
👨💻 PROMPT OF THE WEEK:
Brainstorming:
I'm stuck on a problem with [brief description]. Can you generate some creative solutions or out-of-the-box approaches I might not have considered? Prompt me with a question then wait for my response before asking me another.
NEWS
🏟 GPT2 Enters the Arena?

Earlier this week, a new AI chatbot, named "GPT2-Chatbot," made its mysterious appearance and unofficial debut on the LMSYS Chatbot website. Obviously, anytime a new AI tool is released it sparks curiosity among the AI community. Now, you may be thinking, why is GPT2 just being released since we’re currently using GPT4? Here’s why: Surprisingly, despite being built on older OpenAI technology, it still outperformed the capabilities of several newer chatbot models.
Key Details:
Multiple reports suggest that GPT2 surpassed GPT4 in conversational ability and other tasks. One notable example is a Stanford AI researcher who claimed GPT2 solved an International Math Olympiad problem (to be honest I wouldn't know if it got the answer right or wrong, but I guess that’s why I didn’t go to Stanford).
The origins of "GPT2-Chatbot" are currently unknown, as it appeared without any associated developer or company claiming it. Although, Sam Altman tweeted: “I do have a soft spot for gpt2.” Could this be a clue that this is one of OpenAI’s older models or a newer one in disguise?
You can try out “gpt2-chatbot“ at the LMSYS Chatbot Arena.
Why it's Important:
Even with all of the new daily AI tool releases and updates, it's a great reminder that older generations of tech can still challenge some of the newer models. It also goes to show that by pushing creative boundaries, there is a lot that can still be accomplished with older technologies or as I like to say: “bend it till it breaks.”
INNOVATION
🧑✈️ GitHub’s New Copilot Workspace

GitHub's latest announcement, Copilot Workspace, is yet another great example of how AI is changing software engineering. If you don’t know what GitHub is, it is a platform for developers that allows them to create, store, manage, and share their code with others (think open-source). This new development environment integrates "Copilot-powered agents" to assist developers from the beginning to the end of their software projects and is designed to streamline the coding process.
Key Takeaways:
Copilot Workspace uses OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo model to provide support for routine software development tasks like generating plans to tackle bugs and add new features.
This tool aims to minimize the initial barriers often faced by developers, such as figuring out where to start with a new project or coding issues.
With a new "Open in Workspace" button, GitHub makes it straightforward for developers to transition tasks directly into Copilot Workspace, fostering an environment where code can be easily managed, edited, and shared among team members (think open-source).
Why it's Important:
The introduction of Copilot Workspace could potentially change the landscape of software development by making AI-assisted coding more accessible. This development highlights a growing trend where AI tools are becoming more essential in solving complex software challenges quickly and efficiently. What used to take hours can now be done in minutes and it’s only going to get better!
