🤖 Using AI to Assist in Your Content Creation:

3 Common Mistakes

Welcome back Digital CreAItives!

This week we’re diving into 3 common mistakes people make when they decide to start using AI in their content creation.

And trust me there’s more than what I’m going to cover today.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

1. Relying on AI without reviewing
2. Lack of context and details
3. Not fact-checking

Let’s get right into it.

1. Over-relying on AI (Without Review)

This is something that is done far too often.

We’ve all seen that one post or article that was obviously written by AI.

(que 🚀🔥 emojis and overused/ overcomplicated words i.e. demystify, delve, and unlock)

It amazes me that with how often this is discussed people still copy + paste AI outputs without making a single adjustment.

At this point, AI has been around long enough that most people can tell when AI wrote something.

If you’re using AI to create content always ask yourself this question: “Is this how I would say this?”

If the answer is, “No,” then you need to go back and edit it.

While AI can streamline your content creation you must always review and edit AI-generated content to make sure you add your personal human touch to it.

2. Not Providing Enough Context and Details

Another common mistake that is made is not providing enough detail or context in prompts.

This causes generic and inaccurate responses.

One of the best ways to ensure that you get a thorough answer and even some personality to your response is by using a detailed prompt.

Often times, I will write my prompt out in a Google Doc before I even open ChatGPT (sometimes my prompts are a full page or more).

By writing out my prompts in a Doc ahead of time.

This allows me to:

Avoid my usage limit
Make sure I have all the details
Make any changes I need beforehand

Remember to include as much detail as you can in your prompts!

3. Ignoring Fact-Checking and Accuracy

This one may seem a bit obvious…

But have you seen this AI-generated Google response going around?

While it’s comical, this isn’t the only example of an inaccurate response.

This is why I like to use Preplexity to do my research on a topic or idea I have.

Perplexity uses several LLMs and also taps into real-time data AND gives the references for each of its answers.

In my opinion, Perplexity is the new way to search for answers.

Wrap Up 🏁

While AI can be a huge help in content creation, it’s important to remember AI isn’t meant to replace you but rather enhance and make you more efficient.

By providing context, reviewing outputs, fact-checking, adding personal input, and tailoring content to different formats, you can significantly enhance your content.

As always, if you have any questions or want additional help, feel free to reply to this email or schedule a call with me.
