đŸ’Ș Strategizing Your LinkedIn Growth:

3 Practical Tips You Can Use Today

Presented by

Hello Digital CreAItive,

I hope you all are having a great weekend so far!

Thank you for taking a couple of minutes of your morning to read this article!

This week I want to dive into some LinkedIn strategies you can tap into to grow your LinkedIn presence.

But before we dive in:

☕ Reply to this email with what your favorite social media platorm is (doesn’t have to be LinkedIn).

If you’re trying to build a personal brand or business on LinkedIn, you want to grow.

I don’t care what anybody says, but “vanity metrics” matter.

The more likes, comments, and followers you have the more opportunity there is for business.

Now, I will say it’s still a quality-over-quantity thing.

I’d rather have 2k followers who are highly engaged and potentially want to work with me than 10k followers who never engage.

That said, let’s dive into some practical steps you can take to grow on LinkedIn.

1. Engagement đŸ—Łïž

This one may seem obvious but I bet you there are a couple of tricks you may not know.

Engagement is a must on LinkedIn. For you to grow you must engage.

This can be something as simple as “Liking” another post or leaving a comment.

If you’re commenting make sure you’re leaving a thoughtful comment that makes others stop and think. This will help draw people into your profile.

But today I want to talk about the 1/15/50 Method.

This method is used by most of the big-name creators on LinkedIn.

So, what is the 1/15/50 method?

Here it is:

You need to create 1 post every day (it needs to be high quality and insightful).

You should be sending 15 connection requests throughout the day to your ICP (ideal candidate profile) and ideally DMing them as well.

You should have 50 comments on posts that are related to your niche each day.

Once I started doing this I noticed a big uptick in engagement.

I'm a “practice what I preach” kind of guy so I wouldn’t be suggesting this if I wasn’t doing it myself.

Remember: 1 Post → 15 Connection Requests → 50 Comments

2. Value đŸ’”

If you want to establish a strong personal brand and attract followers, you must provide value.

By doing so, you'll naturally drive more engagement.

What does this look like:

1. Write on topics you know about

2. Collaborating with others in your niche

3. Offer tips and best practices for these topics

What does this not look like?

↳ Pretending to be an expert at something you know nothing about.

Part of adding value is positioning yourself as an expert in your niche by speaking with authority about it.

Pick a topic that you could talk about for hours and create content around that.

This is also your niche.

Also, it’s okay to pivot. Just because you start with one topic doesn’t mean you have to stay there.

But it’s important to realize anytime you change you may lose some of your audience since they were expecting one thing and now you’re moving to another.

Always aim to add value in every post, comment, or message!

3. Profile đŸȘȘ

This one may seem obvious, but your profile is your first impression!

If somebody clicks on your profile the first things they’re going to see are your profile picture and your banner amongst other things.

I spend a lot of time on LinkedIn and it amazes me how many bad profiles I see.

No profile pic (could be a potential setting issue)

No banner (or scattered banner)

A tagline a mile long

You get the idea.

Btw these all used to be me.

And if you’re reading this thinking I wondering if I’m talking about you

Don’t worry I’m not.

But I’m going to tell you how to fix this in case you want to.

Here’s how you can fix your profile from the top down.

You need to fix the “Big 5”:

Banner:

→ needs to explain what you do to your audience

Profile picture:

→ use a professional-looking headshot

Tagline:

→ communicate what you do + your value add

About:

→ explain who you are + how you help your clients

Featured:
→ should reinforce your brand and offerings

Don’t forget your profile is the single most important part of your brand and is your first impression. Make it count!
